Ren Cicalese, CPA/PFS obtained certification in Wells Real Estate Section 1031 Tax Free Exchange Program.
Bruce Mulford, CPA/ABV attended the first National Conference on Divorce, jointly presented by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Dennis Vogt, CPA, served as moderator for the 2002 Mid-Atlantic Area Employee Benefits Conference. The conference was co-sponsored by the American Society of Pension Actuaries Benefits Council of the Delaware Valley and the Internal Revenue Service.
Steven L. Shapiro, CPA/PFS was appointed Vice-Chairman of the Nominating Committee for Sallie Mae Financial Corporation.
George E. Barrett, CPA was elected Treasurer of the Southwest Chapter of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. George was also appointed to the CPA Image Enhancement Committee of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Richard Middleton, CPA was re-appointed Chairman of the Finance Committee and Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Moorestown Visiting Nurses Association. Rich was also elected to the Board of the Directors of Partners in Home Care, a local non-profit health care organization.
Thomas Adams, CPA served as a judge for the Rutgers University - Camden Sixth Annual Intercollegiate Accounting Tournament. Interns Lauren Weidner and Cairo Chavarria assisted at the event.
Congratulations to Lillian Woolley, CPA and her husband Don on the birth of their daughter, Caitlin Elizabeth, on February 27.
Jim Milano, intern, was awarded a New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants scholarship. Jim, a junior at Rutgers University - Camden, was also selected to participate in the Scholars Institute, a program designed to increase awareness about CPA career opportunities.
Domenic Sanginiti, intern, was awarded the Linda M. and Peter M. Musumeci Foundation, Inc. Scholarship, based on academic merit.
Alloy, Silverstein, Shapiro, Adams, Mulford, Cicalese, Wilson & Co./Sallie Mae scholarships were awarded to the following Rutgers University - Camden students based on financial need and academic performance: Jim Milano and Lauren Weidner, both interns at the firm, Helena Chandler, Samiel Fuller, Carolynn Ho and Tina Pyne.
