CPA WebTrust
We are pleased to announce that we will be offering CPA WebTrust services, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' unique seal of assurance for electronic commerce. Similar to financial audits, we, as specially trained CPAs, will examine your company's web site to evaluate its compliance with prescribed business practices and control criteria. The CPA WebTrust criteria examines three broad principles: 1) Business Practices Disclosures 2) Transaction Integrity and 3) Information Protection. Upon successful completion, we will provide a report indicating compliance at which time the site is issued a CPA WebTrust seal. Consumers can click on the seal to access the report. The seal must be updated quarterly.
Although electronic commerce is a rapidly growing industry, studies indicate consumers are very concerned about the security and privacy of their information. These security concerns are the major obstacle to online purchasing. Consumers are hesitant to provide their telephone numbers, addresses and credit card numbers to purchase goods and services. The ultimate objective of the CPA WebTrust is to build consumer confidence in electronic commerce.
