Steven L. Shapiro, CPA, PFS
Appointed as the representative of the Sallie Mae Board of Directors' Political Action Committee. Sallie Mae is the largest grantor of student loans in the U.S. and trades on the New York Stock Exchange. Carnegie Bank was merged into Sovereign Bank on July 31, 1998. Steve had served on the Board of Directors of Carnegie Bank since 1972.

Re-elected to the Board of Directors of Summit Bancorp for an additional three years.

Lectured on the benefits of choosing an accounting career to a group of teenagers at Jacob's Chapel in Mount Laurel, NJ.

Appointed chairperson of the Southwest Jersey Chapter of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants' Cooperation With Bankers Committee. Appointed to the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Speakers Bureau Committee. Appointed to the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Committee on Cooperation With the Bar.
