Employee of the quarter

Our employee of the quarter, Duane Miller, graduated from Rowan University in May 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a concentration in Psychology. He started his accounting career at Alloy Silverstein in October 1998 as an intern and began full-time employment in June 2000. He is currently a semi-senior accountant diligently studying for the remaining two parts of the CPA exam. Duane is a student member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a lifetime member of Psi Beta, a National Honor Society in Psychology.

Duane provides accounting and tax services for a wide range of clients including medical and legal practices and real estate developers. He is an integral member of the firm's individual tax committee and is responsible for keeping the accounting staff abreast of current developments and changes to the tax laws that affect individual taxpayers.

Duane is responsible for informing accountants on payroll updates such as rate changes and educating employees with the payroll tax software program. He instructs the annual in-house payroll seminar and oversees the preparation of year-end payroll forms. Duane is proficient with various accounting software programs. He assists clients in starting up businesses on QuickBooks and is one of the firm's experts in resolving software questions and problems for both clients and accountants.

Duane was born and raised in Cedarbrook, New Jersey, and currently resides in Sewell, New Jersey. Outside of the firm, Duane enjoys playing hockey, softball and weight-training. Duane organizes the Alloy softball team and plays center field with great enthusiasm while overcoming his shoulder injury. He is an avid Miami Dolphins, Oakland Athletics and Philadelphia Flyers fan. Duane participates in various walks for charitable organizations and enjoys attending social gatherings with family, coworkers and friends.
